The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) has been recognized as a Research Centre under Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) since 2018. The establishment of the Research Centre has provided a structured platform for faculty members and research scholars to pursue advanced research and contribute to the development of innovative technologies in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
The department offers opportunities for aspiring researchers to pursue Ph.D. programmes in various emerging and relevant areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The admission procedure and related information for Ph.D. programmes are made available through the VTU Research Portal, enabling eligible candidates to apply and follow the prescribed university guidelines and procedures.
Currently, the ECE Research Centre has three recognized Research Supervisors who are actively involved in guiding and mentoring research scholars. The centre presently has 5 registered Research Scholars pursuing their doctoral research in the department. The supervisors provide academic and technical guidance throughout the research process, including identification of research problems, literature review, methodology development, experimentation, analysis of results, and dissemination of research findings.
The faculty members of the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering have demonstrated a strong commitment to research and academic excellence. They have published more than 80 research papers in reputed international and national journals, as well as in national and international conference proceedings. These publications reflect the department’s active engagement in research and its contribution to emerging areas of technology.
