Academic Year 2024-2025
#1. Senior-Junior Interaction through Technical Quiz - 8 Oct 2024

On 8th October 2024, the 7th and
5th semester students of the Electronics and Communication Engineering
Department organized a technical quiz on the “Basics of Electronics”
for the 3rd semester students.
Technical quizzes serve as an
effective tool to reinforce classroom learning. Unlike traditional exams that
often cover a broad spectrum of topics, quizzes can be designed to target
specific areas of the curriculum. This allows students to regularly revise
important concepts, ensuring that they retain and understand the information
being taught. technical quizzes in engineering colleges play a vital role in
the overall development of students. They reinforce technical knowledge,
develop problem-solving skills, and foster a spirit of healthy competition.
Moreover, they provide real-time feedback, prepare students for industry
requirements, and encourage a culture of continuous learning.
The event not only enhanced the
understanding of core electronics concepts but also encouraged a spirit of
curiosity and healthy competition. Both the organizers and participants gained
meaningful insights, making the event a productive and enriching experience for
all involved.

Mr. Sai Charan Teja, Field Application Engineer, Xtrans Solutions Pvt. Ltd. was the resource person for the workshop. IoT and machine learning deliver insights otherwise hidden in data for rapid, automated responses and improved decision making. Machine learning for IoT can be used to project future trends, detect anomalies, and augment intelligence by ingesting image, video and audio. AI and ML empower IoT devices to process massive amounts of data in real-time, generating valuable insights that can optimize various processes and enhance user experiences.
Moreover, in the realm of industrial IoT, ML algorithms can monitor equipment performance and detect patterns that indicate potential failures. By analyzing historical data and comparing it to real-time data, these algorithms can predict when a machine is likely to malfunction, enabling proactive maintenance. This not only minimizes downtime but also reduces costs associated with unexpected breakdowns.
#3. Seminar on Embedded Systems - 27th July 2024

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Angadi Institute of Technology and management-AITM, Belagavi organized technical talk on “Embedded Systems” by Mr. Sandeep Patil, CTO at Rednerds and EOVIB on 27th July 2024. Embedded technology works by incorporating specialized hardware and software into a device, enabling it to perform dedicated functions. The embedded system processes data from sensors or user input and executes predefined tasks, making it efficient and reliable for its intended purpose. The purpose of embedded systems is to control a specific function within a device. They are usually designed to only perform this function repeatedly, but more developed embedded systems can control entire operating systems.
Some more complex embedded systems can also perform several different functions, but these are still relatively simple tasks that do not require a large amount of processing power.
By being designed and programmed to only have one purpose, the functions of embedded systems make them reliable electronic component that does not need very much maintenance and is pretty easy to add to a device.
